  1. Day 1 SACRED VALLEY FULL DAY

We will pick you up at 7:30am in our private van. On the way to our first stop you will see beautiful snow-capped mountains and hard-working local farmers out in their fields. Once we arrive in CHINCHERO we have the weaving show, where local Andean woman will demonstrate how they make handicrafts from alpaca wool using natural dyes. This is also a great place to purchase some souvenirs from the locals. Then we will drive to MACHUCOLLQA, which has an amazing look-out of the famous SACRED VALLEY. After allowing some time to enjoy the views and take photos we will head to MORAY where you have the option of doing a short hike through the archeological site. Here your tour guide will show you the “terraces” with their own microclimates that played an important role in early agriculture of the area. After this, we head to MARAS, a colonial village where we will have a short walk before continuing to SALINERAS where you will see more than 3000 pond salt mines and your guide will explain the process of how the salt is extracted. After this, we will head to OLLANTAYTAMBO which is about 1 hours’ drive away. Here we will have a tour along the Inca’s Stairway where will see unforgettable Incan architecture like the Temples of the Sun and Moon and their storage house. After the tour we will head to URUBAMBA for lunch where your tour guide will recommend some great places to eat. After lunch, we continue our drive further south to PISAC, another archeological site. Here we will see examples of Incan agricultural techniques and learn more about the history of the area. Then we will drive to TARAY, to enjoy our last view of the sacred valley and, if time permits, we may be able to go to AWANACANCHA to see the beautiful Andean llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos. Our tour will finish at 6:30pm when we drop you off at your hotel in Cusco.
