Family Owned Company! Discover Pachamama is owned and operated by Jose and Marizol Soto who were both Born in Peru and currently live in Cusco, Peru. They have a strong passion and love for their country and culture and they want to share it. They are also passionate about the empowerment of women throughout Peru. They are both experienced guides who have over 20 years’ experience hiking the Inca Trail. Here at Discover Pachamama our focus is our guests and you will be treated like part of our family. They both understand that operating a tour company is not simple about taking travelers on a route from point A to point B. It is the journey that allows you to learn and experience firsthand the local traditions and culture all while soaking in the incredible views along the way and possibly a journey of self-discovery. Jose and Marizol aim to fulfill their dreams of sharing the natural beauty and history of Peru with travelers from all around the world. Discover Pachamama uses only top quality equipment including tents, sleeping bags and liners, pillows, duffel bags, and dining tents handmade locally in Cusco, Peru.
While you are with Discover Pachamama you will eat like a king and queen. Our professional chefs have continued training to provide exceptional food along your journey. Our food is prepared with fresh ingredients and products that are purchased at our local markets. Our service includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals include soups, main courses, desserts, fresh fruits and vegetables, and hot drinks, we also provide fresh drinking water daily. We are also prepared for any dietary restrictions including vegan, vegetarian, diabetics or any other restrictions you might have. Just let us know and we will take care of any concerns you might have.
First Aid, Oxygen Tank, Satellite Phone
Here at Discover Pachamama our guides are all trained in first aid and rescue scenarios which are updated every 2 years. We carry an extensive first aid kit, oxygen tanks, a pulse oximeter and we also carry a satellite phone in the small chance of an emergency.
Discover Pachamama provides a portable environmentally friendly toilet at each of our camp sites for the private use of our guests. We also provide hand wash station, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer.
Door To Door Service
Discover Pachamama offers door to door service to all of our guests. We will pick you up at your accommodation at the start of your journey and drop you back off at the conclusion of our trip.
Discover Pachamama offers free luggage storage of any extra bag or belongings you might need to leave behind during your journey.

Weather Considerations / Good Time For The Adventure
We have two seasons in Cusco to consider. We have the Dry Season April/October and the Rainy Season November/March.
The Dry Season is characterized by blue skies and slightly breezy with day time temperatures 55 to 65 Fahrenheit and night time temperatures 35 to 40 Fahrenheit.
The Rainy season is characterized by possible cloudy skies and possible rain showers with day time temperatures 55 to 60 Fahrenheit and night time temperatures 40 to 45 Fahrenheit.
The Inca Trail closes for maintenance in February each year. Alternative hikes are available.
